Copy the two files directly into your Diablo II directory. In your PlugY.ini file, set the line “DllToLoad=” to “DllToLoad=D2MultiRes_113c”. The other settings should be configured to your liking. Note that when using PlugY with D2MultiRes, the PlugY setting for /players in PlugY.ini must be disabled by setting ‘NBPlayersByDefault=0
Try copying and pasting the plugy FOLDER in the PROJECT D2 and the D2 FOLDERS. I had some trouble with it and this solved it for some reason. My sense is that PLUGY was designed to get permissions or files from where it found the original diablo 2 files in some cases. This way it can still find what it needs.
Sandboxie can do the trick for you. The only problem is it won't save anything inside the sandbox, but that can be worked around. Run Diablo 2 as normal. Create your character to be rushed and create a TCP/IP game. Run Diablo 2 in the sandbox. Load your rusher and join 127.0.0.1. All progress in the sandbox will be lost!
Right now the character conversion from Plugy seems to randomly select a shared stash tab to use as the Personal tab in D2R. D2R uses the last stash tab you had open in Plugy as the Personal tab in D2R after porting the save. Select the tab you want in Plugy, save & exit, copy new .d2s file to D2R folder and the stash should be correct.

Make sure you follow the setup guide so that your PlugY settings use PD2's 10x15 stash instead of PlugY's 10x10 stash, which would delete any items in the bottom 5 rows. I fiddle around with the udietoo editor, it makes copying the same item easier. .
