Once you're in the hallway, the first door on your left is the place where you can purchase the Red Brick items, then activate them in the Extras menu when you pause the game. If you're having trouble getting back to the Leaky Cauldron from another area, I believe if you aren't in a mission you can pause the game and there should be an option
