Alternatively, you could disconnect the wiring connector from the radiator thermoswitch (just above bottom hose connection) and short the brown wire to each of the other two connections. Check for any damage and clean the connector. Ensure that the wires are firmly attached and are not damaged. Second, look at the wires and identify which ones are power wires and which ones are ground wires to avoid any confusion. Škoda Octavia. Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013) Cooling Fan - Which Fuse? My Octavia 2.0 dti DSG (2007 model) seems to have developed the fan running on problem, i.e. the cooling fan runs despite the engine not being hot, for several hours after parking up. The fan running is random on and off for no apparent reason.
